Ahhh... Burgers. They are near and dear to my heart. And nobody does them like Big Orange at the Promenade.
What makes a burger taste really, really good? Is it sauce, seasoning, topping, bun? Is it the quality of the meat? Whatever the answer, Big Orange has it all. The above is the Farmer's Burger, a delicious marriage of farm fresh produce and an egg on top of a juicy patty and homemade bun that I enjoyed this evening. It is one of my overall favorites from their extensive list of crazy delicious foods. The fries in the background are a sampling of all three flavors: regular, truffle, and sweet potato.
While I will certainly review other burger establishments in the future, be sure that this one currently reigns supreme in my mind/belly.
Menu: ★★★★★
Many different options, affordable to outrageous, vegetarian options are not an afterthought, and everything is made fresh in house with local produce when available. With a good selection of craft beers to accompany, the combinations are endless.
Food: ★★★★★
Absolutely delicious. Burgers are juicy and meaty, messy. Buns are soft, toppings are fresh. Side items are awesome, and the artisan shakes are the perfect finish. I'm told that the Curry Vegetarian burger would convert even the most devoted carnivore, but I haven't taken that step yet.
Atmosphere: ★★★★☆
Atmosphere is casual, trendy. A bit on the "hip" side. Not pretentious though.
Service: ★★★☆☆
Service is what you would expect from a burger restaurant, which means it can be spotty at times. Had a wonderful waitress tonight, but have had a couple of shakier services before.
