Hammontree (Fayetteville, AR)

Kids love grilled cheese sandwiches. Big Kids love gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. While in Fayetteville last weekend, Blair and I decided to stop by Hammontree with her family to chow down on some delicious deli concoctions.

Hammontree is an eclectic deli nouveau situated in downtown Fayetteville. It has elements of eccentric decoration, hip wait staff, and an overall comfortable, but different feel. It doesn't smack of the coffee shop, nor of a diner, or even really a sandwich shop, but somehow an amalgamation of all three. I really enjoy it.

Besides having a wide array of different cheeses on different breads with different proteins, they have probably the best collection of Hot Dogs outside of Hot Dog Mike's. With names like Cheebacca, White Buffalo, and East of Edam, their menu reads much like their restaurant presents: entertaining.

Menu:
Creative, with vegetarian options as well as a good selection of hot dogs. They do tend to run out of some soups, they keep the same menu year round but do have specials with new and exciting things.

Food:
As far as grilled cheese sandwiches go: amazing. As far as sandwiches go: excellent. As far as food overall goes: pretty darn tasty. Don't miss the cheese fries.

Atmosphere
Atmosphere is, as I say above, eclectic. It won't be for everyone, but it works.

Service:
Usually quick even on game day. Occasionally have to remind the wait staff about a missed beer or such. Overall pretty decent.
