We stopped by South Congress Cafe on the recommendation of a friend and former Austin resident. We were still a little full from our breakfast tacos buy decided to go with some (in my mind) slightly lighter fare.
Blair opted for a shrimp quesadilla and I had the duck and jalapeƱo sausage gumbo. Both were excellent. As I glanced about the place I could tell it was a popular local destination, similar to, say, Milford Track in Little Rock. The food and service were good, the atmosphere slightly more upscale than the average cafe, and our overall experience there was lovely.
