I decided to break sushi off from the future "Asian" favorite list. Sushi deserves its own category. Unknown to a lot of inlanders, Little Rock actually has a pretty large selection of sushi restaurants. Some are the common, chain, combo sushi and hibachi style locations, and some are dedicated to their craft. More weight is given to the latter in this list, but I'll include the former just to highlight the breadth of locations.
The best single bite of food I've ever had is a piece of sushi. You can read about that here. There is also a flick that Sushi lovers should checkout: Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Its a documentary about the guy who really started the sushi movement around the world, and kept it alive during hard times. But now, on to the fish!
Top Sushi Places:
1) Honaroos -- Best prices in town, especially for sashimi. Service can be abysmal occasionally, but food is good and prices make up for it. Location near Downtown is great for evening dining.
2) Mt. Fuji -- Great specials, and has been here the longest. Service is great. A broad other menu for non-sushi eaters.
3) Sushi Cafe -- Much more expensive than the above, but more creative. Service is hit or miss, bringing this down the list.
Still Good:
1) Sky Japanese -- good selection, slightly pricey. Since its new the service is spotty.
2) Kiyen's -- Formerly Papa Sushi, the quality and prices took a hit in the transition. Still good if you're in West Little Rock.
3) Wasabi -- Downtown, tastey and good service.
Hibachi and Sushi Places:
1) Samurai -- West Little Rock
2) Sekesui -- West Little Rock
3) Benihana -- North Little Rock
4) Kobe -- West Little Rock
5) Shogun -- Cantrell Hill
Haven't Been There:
1) Igibon -- looks pretty good.
2) Tokyo House -- A buffet???
